My bank said it was a safety protocol to prevent fraud, since I wasn’t in Europe. I had to do the same thing to buy books from David Irving’s website, so you probably just have to nut up and call your financial institution and authorize it. If they don’t allow it for some other reason, get a new bank!

International payment converting any currency to Euro should not be a problem when using a standard credit card. However, we have noticed that some banks seem to reject the payment without giving any reason. There is no way for us to prove that these banks have a problem with the WD service but it is a possibility to take into consideration. If a bank rejects the payment even after double authorization by the customer, you might want to consider crypto, especially as Bitcoin and friends have recently risen again.

With my debit card, I had to get it authorized through my bank, and as I guessed, they charged me a currency exchange differential ($0.45), but it works fine now. With a prepaid card, you might still need to call in to get it authorized, and depending on who the card is through, that might be impossible.

Is it worth getting a prepaid card? I can do the crypto, but it’s more of a hassle.

I have tried to use my debit card (I can’t be cancelled; my boss hates me, but he can’t fire me), but my bank doesn’t allow foreign purchases? I need to speak with them on Monday (it’s a Sunday morning, now) to get that cleared up, I guess. My assumption is that because there’s an exchange rate with foreign currencies, many/most card processors do not keep a certain amount of all foreign denominations, even the major ones like the Euro, so that digital orders can be processed instantly; therefore, they have to manually “purchase” these currencies in order to allow you to pay for a product that is not sold in USD.

Yeah I was going to pay for membership too, and I only saw prices in Euros€, such a shame I wanted to PM a few ladies on here. 🙁

When trying to pay for the membership, it says they take American Express. I tried to use an American Express gift card that I bought with cash here in the US in order to hide my identity, but the card was declined. I guess it’s because the website is based in Europe. Does anybody have any ideas for how I can get the money on this card to pay for the membership?
