    Shane MacGowan, the original lead singer for The Pogues, died recently. The man was a drunken Irish poet, and although I find his lifelong drunkenness generally reprehensible, to my ears there was a sort of vulnerable defiance in his voice and lyrics that I found highly relatable as a young, working class, sensitive and troubled white man. R.I.P.

    The Pogues are well worth a listen if you like Irish folk or punk rock or both. I’m pretty sure they spawned a whole genre of ‘Irish punk’ imitators, but to my knowledge they did it first and, in my opinion, best. Their first five or so albums, featuring MacGowan, are my favorites.

    I’m a big fan of Nightwish. Pretty much love everything they put out.

    A lot of my personal study/listening revolves around Early Music (Medieval era). I listen to a lot of classical and prog rock as well.

    I have recently been listening to many artists in the “Dungeon Synth” genre. (Essentially medieval synth music that seems to be a primarily White genre of music.)

    I have been really into Fief recently https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppoivQ4sQww

    I’ve been listening to a lot of No Face Nate, Saxon and Colonizer from W2R Records.

    I’ll post some less famous composers as I remember them.

    Scarlatti:

    @Aster

    This rendition is excellent. Thank you, I did not know it.

    “Its distinctive chords first developed out of the folk music of late 15th-Century Portugal”

    Portugal is underrated when it comes to music; they had beautiful cantigas in the Middle-Ages:

    “Apparently Britney Spears’ Oops I Did It Again has the same chord progression”

    All of pop music and most of rock use the very basic music theory over and over, often just straight up copying classical pieces lol.

    Cheers!

    Great musical suggestions. I second Skald.

    @AeonKnight
    I love La Follia. Well, Corelli’s version and this playing of it especially with Hesperion XXI and Jordi Savall:

    La Folia – “Its distinctive chords first developed out of the folk music of late 15th-Century Portugal, where it was used in popular festivals.”
    Apparently Britney Spears’ Oops I Did It Again has the same chord progression 😂

    For some Mediterranean music, Seikilos epitaph, the earliest known complete musical piece, by our beloved Greeks:

    Very nice.

    Another group that comes to mind is Heilung, kinda similar to Wardruna:

    I won’t list who I listen to because they are all high level degenerates, but those creators, along with Mr. Bond are good for me in that they do invigorate rage. By using music to conjure up this rage I can utilize my rage towards productive ends. For example at the gym. I enjoy classical and soundtrack music though, Beethoven, Hans zimmer, ect.

    Wardruna and Heilung, Skald are great Neofolk bands that raise the Indo-European spirit.

    Aurora is an entertaining Norwegian artist with her own style.

    Eivor is extremely worth checking out too.

    Despite the “Global” settings of this song, this is a really well done song by a Ukrainian electro-folk band. Onuka.

    Anger is an appropriate feeling, but it isn’t a culture.

    Spot on.

    I don’t know if this counts, but lately I’ve been more into natural sounds as opposed to proper music. There are some apps that have a variety of natural sounds (rain, wind, river, forest etc.) that you can mix together and set the volume for each sound individually, then you can layer a melody, podcast, meditation or other music on top of that.
    Listening to sounds/melodies without sung words is less distracting.

    Otava Yo. Authentic Russian folk music with a little rock here and there, and occasionally some Celtic or other European folk songs. They’ve got a bunch of great videos on YouTube.

    No my guy. More like David Coffin, The Dubliners, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, Marty Robbins, Stan Rogers, and others

    Mr Bond is neat every once in a long while but to listen to it often isn’t a good call. Anger is an appropriate feeling, but it isn’t a culture.
