Right now I’m working on making writing and reading (attempted) non-fiction my primary ‘introverted’ escapes.

I don’t really consider ‘extroverted’ activities escape, unless the people involved are truly wonderful.

As for meeting new people, work will soon supply that…

Then it will be about meeting people to do something we both like to do.

Ultimately, of course, I’d like to make (true) friends that would like me and by my allies even if they knew everything about me.

Forms of escape? I live it every day.

    The movement itself is escape.

Fair enough, buddy. @Hunter Those are some very valid concerns, but one mustn’t give up hope.

Not everyone’s positioned to engage in all those activities, but there are still affordable, local options, too:

    – You can attend church or small group meetings in your area, even if you are not religious (I’m an atheist, but I go to Christian activities), because they help connect you with people and possible opportunities – I’ve been offered work by fellow churchgoers.

    – There are common organizations like Lions Club, American Legion, Elks Lodge, etc where you can hangout, enjoy some old-fashioned food and drinks, spend some time with the (usually older) people in your area and see what all you can learn from them.

    – If you’re into physical fitness, and of good enough health to participate, a lot of areas have sports teams and bicycling, running, hiking, or camping groups that’ll organize weekly events that you can get out and have fun with, while getting some exercise.

    – There’s always the possibility of taking up new interests, too: go to a pottery class, study a new language, learn how to garden, or even take something as simple as a CPR or First Aid certification course(s) – you meet new people and might save a life someday!

    – Something else you could try, depending on your interest, is take some college classes or even a certification class; something for a career change, new skill set, get sponsored by an employer for a nursing program, etc. Lots of options!

Trust me though, brother; video games are not your friend, lol. I had video game addiction for probably 15+ years, and, looking back, it was largely an unproductive waste of my time alive. There are so many better, healthier activities you can enjoy that’ll expose you to new places, ideas, and people you wouldn’t otherwise connect with online. As convenient as the Internet is, for so many things, nothing can ever replace the real-world connections and all the possibilities that come with them. Get out there!

Yes @Leo, if and when I have the time and health, I’ll join and volunteer to help organize for-fun social events for the PPC i.e. the as close to sane as possible Cuckadian party that ran a candidate in ‘my’ city, the only serious way to maybe meet other potentially sane (not-vax’d) White people here. However, I also have to take care of my elderly abusive parents. I really enjoy travel, but it is costly, and I’ve found that I don’t really enjoy traveling alone, unless it is easy to meet new friends at the destinations.

I’m definitely done playing video gaymz alone though, I can’t even enjoy them anymore lol

    @Hunter Here’s how I escape:

    – Travel, most of all; especially to international destinations where I can discover new ideas, languages, lifestyles, history, cuisine, etc.

    – Reading; usually nonfiction and historic literature, particularly books that are rare, antique, and otherwise difficult to find.

    – Socialization with groups that have specific interests; sportsmen clubs, hiking and running groups, worldview groups, book clubs, etc.

    – Volunteer organizations; often, these can expose you to new places in your area, and connect you with friendly, selfless people.

    – National parks are usually cool; Canada and the United States have some very fascinating natural and cultural landmarks to appreciate.

    – Urban exploration; this usually involves trespassing, but it can be very exciting to go explore old ghost towns or abandoned facilities.

… just to name a few possibilities, lol.

I have frequently read the news and commented on various forums for entertainment in the past, but that is something I’ve been trying to distance myself from. I have enjoyed Crusader Kings 3, it is a great game for learning about medieval history, yet it is extremely time consuming. On that note, my favourite Anime this season is Spice & Wolf. My work currently involves writing so writing fiction is on the back-burner for now. I will make time for ‘playing’ my musical instruments but the process is quite demanding, so work comes first. What I decide to do for entertainment alone is often different from what I would do if I had good company.

What topics do the non-Fiction books cover? Does the historical novel happen to feature the Spartans? The question as to why the Spartans never had an empire like the Romans is interesting.

I’ve written two non-fiction books and one futuristic novel in the style of Serpent’s Walk. And, I’m currently writing an historical novel set in Ancient Greece.

What do your books focus on or what genre are they? I would like to start writing but I find it incredibly time intensive and I really need to focus on completing the post-graduate program I am enrolled in… maybe after I’m done.

I enjoy playing wargames, and I also enjoy writing. Thus far, I’ve written three books and am currently working on another.

Sometimes we need a temporary escape from our own real lives, what forms of escape do you enjoy?
