I wanna chime in even if it’s a bit too late for it to be useful!

Other than the excellent Aloe Vera that Faustus already suggested, I’d recommend pure Shea butter and pure vitamin E for sunburns. Emphasis on the “pure” part because stuff that contains other crap (phthalates, parabens, silicones etc) shouldn’t be put on healthy skin, let alone damaged skin.

For insect repellent alternatives I’ve found a few drops of lavender and tea tree essential oils to be very effective, so I’ve never searched for anything else.

Sunburn is literally a burn damage to your skin. If you just got sun burnt, you should take a cool shower or bath to remove the heat stored in your skin. Burn damage causes drying to the skin so you should put a moisturizer on the skin; aloe vera especially has properties that help sun burn. Most important, make sure not to expose the skin to more sun. Keep it covered from sun and heat.

I don’t limit myself to natural medicine, so I use regular sun tan/block lotion and douse myself in DEET to keep mosquitoes away. There is a natural repellent called Picardin if you prefer; it’s not as effective as DEET but it’s natural.

Hi, does anyone have know what to use to avoid sunburn or calm sunburns? Also what do you use for preventing mosquito bite? You can PM me if you like.
