Did anyone see the news story about UberEats providing an app to show black owned businesses and delivery is free from these places?

Last night we went out to see the car clubs. I am the youngest of the bunch, and I remember the riots of the 70s. So we are all going for the weekend cruise up the cruising street of our youth- and suddenly a big hostile crowd blocks the way. We see it in time to turn and avoid it. As we do, we see nervous officers lining the street in full riot gear. I want to go home at this point. No, instead it is decided we will listen to the radio because if something is up we would be warned. Nothing is mentioned. We continue driving and skirting around the crowd. Few are wearing masks, I see it’s a protest and I wish covid on them all. The whole time the upscale restaurants have vulnerable people (most of which are white and affluent which would make them great targets) eating on the patios. People are down there walking around with their multicolored children. I don’t give a damn about these people or their offspring, but what kind of loser puts a child in harms way?! Of course the crowd starts spreading out, growing. Thug looking types are all around. An ambulance comes red lights and sirens, followed by fire trucks….7 of them, red lights and sirens. It gets darker and scarier as the crowd grows and spreads out. Even decent people a few blocks down are starting to notice something is up. I point out that large groups of people are trouble, especially when they are uneducated and pissed. About this time my eyes burn and we see a great deal of smoke that fills the air. We leave…

That night, the news reports peaceful protests -without incident downtown. All of the channels and local newspapers tell the same story. What in the surreal, lying hell???

This question is one I have given serious thought. Yesterday, while out to eat I found myself by a family that was speaking only Spanish. After overcoming my natural disgust I realized this America. I am free to bring my family and only speak any European language I choose. I am free to practice the Swedish holiday traditions my grandfather passed down. I am free to research and wear clothing and hairstyles similar to my ancestors. And I am free to scream intolerance, become offended, and sue anyone that doesn’t accommodate me.

My grandson is 7, and he knows several Irish phrases and words.

Back in the 70s when I was a child my mother had to deal with this. I truly believe what saved me was the fact that she worked 2 jobs and put me through private school. There were only 5 children of any color in the entire elementary level of that school. These children of other races had parents that were professionals, so they didn’t act like the “children of diversity” do now. We didn’t have a white school – we had a “christian” school with tuition that most ethnic types couldn’t afford. To this day I put myself, my children, and my grandchildren in atmospheres where it isn’t a crime to be white. And it is becoming more and more difficult to do so. Fortunately, the symphony still remains a mainly low color activity.

Most people (white trash) are so indoctrinated that I pretty much despise the human race. I run with some older (in their 70s -90s), educated (Masters or PhD), professionals (before they retired) and a gorgeous German Shepherd. I have given up TV for the solace of my books. I can choose what I read,and no one force feeds me a soap commercial with a mixed couple. I only buy books at estate sales so I cant be profiled by the library or Amazon, etc. This is still America (such as it is), I am still a white woman (with a genetic test to prove it) and I am still free to read, think, and believe as I please (as long as no one catches me and tries to destroy my career as a result.)
